Why find a quit buddy?
The support of friends and family will ease your path to quit smoking. Quit buddies will help you through tough stretches.
Who will help me quit?
Choose a friend, family member, or fellow quitter you can rely on. Ask if they will be willing to help you commit to your quit with weekly check-ins. Your quit buddy will hold you accountable to your quit goal.
When do we check in?
Weekly, on Mondays! Use Mondays to check-in with your quit buddy.
What do we do?
Set a time that works for you both each Monday. You can meet up for a walk, a cup of tea, or a game of checkers. If in-person does not work check-in by text or phone. Don’t miss a Monday! Be careful to avoid activities that may trigger cravings.
Do you want extra credit?
Use social media! Each Monday, share that you have quit and for how many weeks. People will be proud of your commitment. Be sure to use #quitmonday to tap into the Monday quitter movement for a whole network of support for your quit.
